DANVILLE, KY (WAVE) ? As Centre College prepares to host the only vice presidential debate, a monumental day took place on campus.
The magnificent Abraham Lincoln statue, the latest sculpture by internationally renowned artist Ed Hamilton, who was watching every step, arrived on Friday.
"This is a younger Lincoln than the one I did on the waterfront," said Hamilton. "This even predates that because this is even before he became a lawyer."
The formal unveiling will be this Sunday evening. The statue will face the library to inspire students as they come and go.
