A sociologist who has been involved in research surrounding fathers and fatherhood has been quoted as saying, ?Fathers are far more than just ?second adults? in the home. Involved fathers bring positive benefits to their children that no other person is as likely to bring.?The truth of the matter is that fathers have a direct impact on the well-being of their children. Through the quality of the relationship with the mother of their children fathers influence their children. Research shows that children with involved, caring fathers have better educational outcomes. Right from birth, children who have an involved father are more likely to be emotionally secure, be confident to explore their surroundings, and, as they grow older, have better social connections with peers. On Let?s Talk to the Experts we will take a look at fatherhood and the family as we explore the awesome responsibility and awesome opportunity that is placed in the hands of fathers.
